Born in England, Joanne has studied art in England, Wales and Austrlia. BA (Hons) degree Aberystwyth University, Wales (included printmaking).
Worked for some years at Design Council in London, a body devoted to encouraging good design practice in industry. Travelled around Australia for one year, migrated in 1992.
Descended from artistic family which includes: Sir Joshua Reynolds, (first President of the Royal Academy, London); Joshua Reynolds Gwatkin, (see Imperial War Museum, London); Julian Ashton, (see Art Gallery of New South Wales).
Member: Sydney Printmakers and Print Circle.
Exhibited: Australia, (eg Mosman Art Prize, Rex Irwin, Sir Herman Black, Spiral Arm, Seasons Gallery, Ewart Gallery, various Regional Galleries), and overseas (UK, USA, China, Chile, Japan, Norway). Represented in private collections in above countries, as well as South Africa, France, New Zealand. Solo: UK and Australia; as well as two ‘three women printmakers’, exhibitions in Sydney.

‘Artist in residence’ at Northbridge(2002) and Mona Vale(2004) Primary Schools, NSW, Australia. Regularly teaches art at Mona Vale School as well as occasional ‘open studio’ printmaking classes for children at the Workshop Arts Centre, Willoughby.
