Tanya completed her architecture degree at Sydney University where she studied art under Lloyd Rees. She later did printmaking at the Workshop Arts Centre with Michael West and subsequently taught at university, in schools and in the community. Her prints often reflect her architectural background; they are usually figurative, although Tanya is interested in juxtaposing realistic elements in an unusual way, using a variety of printing and painting techniques. Tanya began exhibiting in 1960 at the University of Sydney’s Gallery of Fine Arts where she showed as one of Six Young Artists. Since then she has exhibited regularly (nationally and internationally) in various group exhibitions – with the Print Circle, Sydney Printmakers, Eight Graphic Artists, Winslow Group, Print Council of Australia, Ten Women Artists of Mosman, etc. She has also held 15 solo or two-person exhibitions in various states of Australia and overseas. Her work is represented in private collections in UK, Germany, France, Malaysia, Australia, and in Parliament House Canberra, Parliament House NSW, NSW Powerhouse Museum, Queensland Institute of Technology, Deakin University, Art Bank. Major commissions include: Edition of 50 lithographs (Print Council of Australia) and Mosaic Wall and Sculpture (State Economic Development Corporation, Sarawak, Malaysia)
